Sports coaching course in Senegal
As part of its partnership with the Neuchatel-based International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) within the framework of FIFA's 'Win in Africa with Africa' project, Dakar's Cheikh Anta Diop University will, from this October, be organising a second session of its sports management course.
This academic study programme provides students with an essential grounding in the fields of law, marketing, finance, management, communication and event organisation. These management tools have been adapted by a team of highly renowned educationalists to suit local requirements and realities.
Over the last 20 years, sport has undergone rapid development and growth, becoming an economic issue around which highly diverse interests intersect. However, sport is also marked by certain inequalities. The difference in popularity between sports and in economic situations from one country to another make sports management a complex task.
The course aims to offer students the widest possible overview of modern sport, equipping them with the basic tools needed to administer their federation or club effectively within the specific context of Senegal and the surrounding countries.
