Ballack pledges Blues stay
Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has moved to quell the mounting speculation linking him with a move to Spanish champions Real Madrid.
The 30-year-old Germany international netted seven goals in 46 appearances in his first season with the Blues, following his free transfer arrival from Bayern Munich just over a year ago.
He told Chelsea's official club website: "I am totally committed to Chelsea. I came here to win trophies and be successful in English football.
"I am very happy in London professionally and for my family. The speculation about me leaving is not true.
"I have no interest in leaving Chelsea and I have had no contact with Real Madrid whatsoever.
"I am frustrated by my injury at the moment, but I am working hard to be fit and hope to be back very soon to join my team-mates."
The Spanish press have suggested that Ballack and Stamford Bridge team-mate Arjen Robben are being lined up by Real in a double deal worth around £30million
